Heron Tracks
**Sweatshirts are 6" larger in chest size than the t-shirts**
The great blue heron is an icon of American wetlands. They are striking birds; their huge wingspans and deep squawks make their evolutionary link to dinosaurs intuitive. They have adapted well to human development, but wetlands continue to be threatened by land reclamation, pollution, and development such as dams and canals. Even after DDT demolished a generation of water birds, their population is strong from coast to coast.
You can help to protect these graceful animals by advocating for strong regulation of agricultural chemicals and industrial waste disposal and conservation of important wetland habitat.Ā The front of this shirt shows heron tracks in field guide format, and the back is printed with a beautiful monochrome great blue heron with its Latin name.
Artwork by Gelsey Malferrari, who runs theĀ Laughing Coyote Project in Boulder County which teachesĀ ancestral wilderness skills and helps people to reconnect with Earth.
